The New Improved Learning Environment (NILE) program continues the public education enhancement program introduced by the Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Dorsch Consult Wasser und Umwelt GmbH (DCWU) .Approximately 900 classrooms and some 80 schools shall be constructed and/or rehabilitated in the Governorates of Qena, Fayoum, Menia and Assiut. The selection of districts and schools shall be based on a needs assessment according to defined socio-economic and educational criteria. In order to improve the learning environment, increase efficiency and quality and at the same time reduce construction costs, existing designs and standards shall be reviewed. To enhance to sustainability of the investment component and decentralization processes, capacity-building measures shall support the participation of stakeholders and the management competence at the local administration and school level.
Scope of work
Construction Development Center has been awarded the preparation of final design for the 34 schools project Depending on the number of Kindergarten classes (2 to 8 classes), standard classrooms (6 to 24 classes) and auxiliary rooms.
